The Hole In The Wal

The Hole In the Wall opened in 1963 as a restaurant on the upper floors of RW Chapman & Co, who were auctioneershand estate agents. As the business grew, the restaurant incorporated several bars and took over all three floors in the building.

The business was and is a Berni Inn.

The building itself looks very old and was almost certainly some form of warehouse which was later adapted for offices before the restarant and pub moved in.

Other inhabitants of the building in the past have been the local DVLC and also Lugget Bros., Gentlemen's Outfitters.
